Does not take up water, swell or delaminate the way timber does
The tube does not rot; the fixings and the batten behind it are what fail
Non-corroding fixings are the critical item in a damp void
Finished all round, so it works exposed where nothing stays dry
A hollow wood-plastic ceiling tube at 40 × 45 mm, specified for damp ceilings. The section is a closed-cell composite, so it does not take up water, swell or delaminate the way timber does, and it is unaffected by the humidity that eventually attacks a timber batten.
That makes it the tube for bathrooms, pool halls, plant rooms and semi-external soffits. The honest point about a rot-proof product is that it shifts the failure mode rather than removing it: in a damp ceiling the parts that actually fail are the fixings and any timber batten behind the tube, so the specification has to cover those too. A rot-proof tube on a rotting batten is not a rot-proof ceiling. In a pool hall, where chlorine is in the air, the fixing specification matters more than the tube itself, so tell us the environment at enquiry rather than only the quantity. The section is finished on all four faces and fixes to a batten or direct, and it looks the same as the standard tube — the difference is the compound, not the appearance.
Confirm the environment and the fixing specification together when ordering, and check that the battens behind are suitable for a damp void.
Chlorine in the air makes the fixing, not the tube, the deciding detail
Permanently damp, warm and rarely ventilated
Sheltered from rain but never dry, the hardest case for timber
Sustained humidity with a visible ceiling that has to stay clean

Yes. Send the product and the size you are specifying, and we will confirm the sample and the lead time for it.
The fixings and any timber batten behind it. That is where the attention should go: stainless or coated fixings and a batten that is either composite or properly treated. A rot-proof tube on a rotting batten is not a rot-proof ceiling.
It is the section for a damp void, and pool halls are the hard case because of chlorine in the air. Tell us the environment, because the fixing specification matters more than the tube there.
The section is closed-cell, so it does not take up water the way timber does, and it will not swell or delaminate. Standing water is still a different matter, which is why it is a ceiling product rather than a wet-area lining.
No. Same finish and colours, different compound and section.
