| Core | Green-dyed moisture-resistant MDF — the dye marks the grade through the board |
| Behaviour | Resists moisture better than standard MDF; it is not waterproof |
| Edge | The cut edge is the weak point and must be sealed in a humid room |
| Machining | Machines and paints like standard MDF, so a profile can be routed normally |
| Use | Kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and other humid interiors |
| Glue line | MR / E0 / CARB P2 / E1 depending on the requirement |
The grade is identifiable through the board, not from a label
It buys time in a humid room, and standing water still swells it
Cut edges need sealing more than the faces do
Same tooling and same finish as the standard grade
Moisture-resistant MDF with a green-dyed core, in 1220 × 2440 mm and larger formats from 2 mm to 30 mm. It machines and paints like standard MDF, so a profile can be routed normally without changing the tooling or the finish.
The grade is for kitchens, bathrooms, utility rooms and other humid interiors, and the dye in the core exists so the grade can be identified through the board rather than from a label — which matters when a delivery is being checked. What it is not is waterproof, and treating it as though it were is the usual way it fails: it resists moisture better than standard MDF and that buys time in a humid room, but water sitting on the surface or entering an unsealed edge will still swell it. The cut edge is the weak point, more than the faces, so every edge should be sealed in a kitchen or bathroom even though the core is treated. It is a substrate, not a finish: behind a properly tanked surface it does its job, as the waterproofing itself it does not. Specifying it throughout a building to be safe is paying a premium for a property the dry rooms will never use.
Confirm which rooms actually need the grade and the edge-sealing detail for each, and we will quote the moisture-resistant board only where it is doing work.
The room where steam and spills arrive together
A humid room, with the edge seal doing the real work
Damp that is routine rather than occasional
Warm and humid, and usually the last place anyone details properly

Yes. Send the product and the size you are specifying, and we will confirm the sample and the lead time for it.
No, and treating it as though it were is the most common way it fails. It resists moisture better than standard MDF, which buys time in a humid room, but it will still swell if water sits on it or gets into an unsealed edge.
So the grade can be identified through the board rather than from a label. If you cut a panel and the core is not green, it is not the moisture-resistant grade, which matters when a delivery is being checked on site.
Yes, and more so than the faces. The cut edge is where water enters, so seal every edge in a kitchen or bathroom application even though the core resists moisture.
Only behind a properly tanked surface, not as the finish or as the waterproofing. Tank the wet zone and treat the board as a substrate.
