One thickness only, chosen for commercial floors
The heavy layer, for abrasion from footfall and cleaning
A thicker core spreads a trolley wheel better than a 4 mm plank
Laid floating over a flat and dry subfloor
A 6 mm rigid-core SPC plank with a 0.5 mm wear layer, built for commercial floors. The thickness and the wear layer are both deliberate: the core carries the point load and the wear layer takes the abrasion.
It goes in shops, offices, reception areas and other commercial interiors, where a domestic plank would be asked to do more than it was made for. The 6 mm core spreads a trolley wheel or a chair leg over more material, so the floor resists marking, and the 0.5 mm wear layer is the heavy end of the range, which is what decides how long the surface survives cleaning and footfall. A loaded pallet truck on a small wheel is a different load case again, and if that is the actual traffic the floor needs a different specification rather than a thicker plank. The plank is click-lock and laid floating over a flat, dry subfloor, which keeps installation clean and lets the floor move as a sheet. It can go over an existing commercial floor if that floor is sound and flat, but the height at the thresholds should be checked before the order.
Confirm the traffic type and the subfloor condition when you enquire, because a commercial specification written for footfall and one written for wheeled loads are not the same floor.
Trolleys, footfall and cleaning all arrive on the same floor
The floor where chairs roll and people stop to talk
Lobbies and function spaces that take continuous traffic
Chairs moved daily and spills wiped up on the same surface

Yes. Send the product and the size you are specifying, and we will confirm the sample and the lead time for it.
A 6 mm core with a 0.5 mm wear layer spreads a point load better than a thin domestic plank, so it resists marking under normal trolley traffic. It is not indestructible: a loaded pallet truck on a small wheel is a different load case, and if that is the traffic the floor needs a different specification.
The extra 0.5 mm of core is what lets the plank carry commercial traffic and stay flat over a subfloor with minor variation. It also gives a slightly quieter, more solid feel underfoot.
Both matter, and they do different jobs. The wear layer decides how long the surface survives abrasion; the core thickness decides how the plank behaves under a point load. A commercial floor needs both.
Over a sound, flat one, yes, with the same flatness checks as any floating floor. Confirm the height at the thresholds first.
