The grain follows the wave, so the figure moves as the light moves
Reads at an angle and flattens straight on, which decides where it is used
The wave has to run across joints, so a break at a doorway shows
A shadow line without a deep reveal
A wood-plastic composite wall panel at 209 × 15 mm with a wave wood-grain pattern. The wave is in the surface treatment and the grain follows it, so the figure shifts as light moves across the wall rather than running straight like a conventional wood print.
It is a feature-wall product rather than a bulk cladding. The movement reads best on a surface seen at an angle — a corridor, a stair, a reception backdrop — because that is where the light changes across the wave. Straight on, the pattern can flatten and a plainer grain would do the same job for less money. The caution is the joint: a pattern that moves draws the eye to any break in its rhythm, so set out from a centre line and keep the wave continuous across the joints. A run that starts and stops at a doorway shows the interruption. The 15 mm section gives a mid-range standoff and a shadow line at the joint with no visible fixings. On a curved wall the section will only take a generous radius, so the radius has to be confirmed before the order rather than after.
Send the elevation and the viewing direction when you enquire, and take a sample of the actual wave before the run is fixed, because this is a finish where a photograph and a panel do not read the same.
Seen from below and along, which is the angle the wave needs
Movement under changing light down a long walk
A wall looked at from an angle while people wait
A timber look with movement, without veneer's build-up and edging

Yes. Send the product and the size you are specifying, and we will confirm the sample and the lead time for it.
The wave is in the surface treatment and the grain follows it, so the effect changes as the light moves across the wall. It is not a straight grain printed at an angle.
Slightly, because a pattern that moves draws the eye to any break in the rhythm. Set out from a centre line and keep the wave continuous across joints; a run that starts and stops at a door will show the break.
On a wall seen at an angle — a corridor, a stair, a reception backdrop. Straight on, the movement can be lost and a plainer grain would do the same job for less.
Only with a generous radius and a batten layout that follows the curve, because a 15 mm hollow section does not bend tightly. Send the radius and we will say whether it is achievable.
