Mineral Wool Acoustic Panel
- Core Mineral wool — non-combustible, and the reason this panel is specified where a class is named
- Absorption The mineral core reaches a given figure in less depth than a felt panel does

| Core | 100% PET polyester fibre — no mineral core and no dust when cut |
|---|---|
| Site cutting | Cuts with a sharp knife; no saw and no specialist tool needed |
| Thickness | 9 / 12 / 15 / 18 / 20 / 25 mm — thickness and the air gap together set the absorption |
| Format | 1220 × 2440 mm sheet, or 600 × 600 and 600 × 1200 tiles; custom sizes accepted |
| Mounting | On battens with an air gap — a PET panel glued flat gives up part of its performance |
| Fire | Confirm the class the project requires; a polyester panel is not automatically non-combustible |
| Standard | ASTM C423 for sound absorption. Ask for the report for the grade you specify. |
A single-material polyester panel with no mineral core
Cuts with a sharp knife, with no saw and no dust
Needs an air gap, because glued flat it gives up part of its performance
Polyester is not automatically non-combustible, so the class is checked before the finish
An acoustic panel made from PET polyester fibre. It is a single-material panel with no mineral core, which is the difference that matters in use: it cuts with a sharp knife, produces no dust when cut, and leaves a clean edge without a saw.
That makes it the acoustic panel for occupied buildings and for site work that cannot be sealed off. A mineral-core panel in a working office means isolating the area and managing dust; a PET panel is cut where it is fitted. It is specified for offices, meeting rooms, classrooms and studios, mounted direct or on battens with a concealed fixing. The one detail people get wrong is the air gap: the cavity behind the face is part of the absorber, so a panel glued flat to the wall gives up a measurable part of its performance. Batten it out and the panel does what it was bought for. Two things to check before ordering rather than after: whether the project names a fire class, because a polyester panel is not automatically non-combustible the way a mineral core is, and whether the panel sits in direct sun, because interior panels are not formulated for that exposure.
Send the room, the required absorption and any fire class when you enquire, and confirm the batten depth alongside the panel thickness.

The panel goes up around the furniture, with no mineral fibre in the air
Cut to shape around sockets and boards without specialist tools

Yes. Send the product and the size you are specifying, and we will confirm the sample and the lead time for it.
Yes, that is one of its advantages. A sharp knife cuts it and the offcut stays a clean edge, with no mineral dust and no fibres in the air. That matters in an occupied building, where a mineral-wool product would need the area sealed off.
Yes. The gap behind the face is part of what absorbs the sound, so a PET panel glued flat to the wall loses a measurable part of its performance. Batten it out.
Ask for the grade and the documentation for the project. A polyester panel is not automatically non-combustible the way a mineral core is, so if the specification names a class, confirm it before ordering rather than after.
Interior panels are not formulated for direct sun. Behind glazing that gets strong afternoon sun, tell us the exposure before choosing a colour.
