PET Polyester Acoustic Panel
- Core 100% PET polyester fibre — no mineral core and no dust when cut
- Site cutting Cuts with a sharp knife; no saw and no specialist tool needed

| Core | Mineral wool — non-combustible, and the reason this panel is specified where a class is named |
|---|---|
| Absorption | The mineral core reaches a given figure in less depth than a felt panel does |
| Thickness | 9 / 12 / 15 / 18 / 20 / 25 mm; the depth needed follows from the target, not from preference |
| Format | 1220 × 2440 mm sheet, or factory-cut 600 × 600 and 600 × 1200 tiles |
| Mounting | Air gap behind the panel — the cavity is part of the absorber, not a fixing detail |
| Facing | An acoustically transparent facing lets the core work; a sealed veneer reflects sound |
| Standard | ASTM C423 for sound absorption. Ask for the report for the grade you specify. |
Mineral wool, which is why it is named where a fire class is specified
Reaches a given figure in less thickness than a felt panel
A sealed veneer reflects sound, so the facing changes the performance
Cut outside the room or behind a seal in an occupied building
An acoustic panel with a mineral wool core and a fabric or veneer facing. Two properties separate it from a felt panel: the core is non-combustible, and it absorbs more sound per unit of thickness.
Those are the reasons it is specified where a fire class is named, or where a room needs a high absorption figure without surrendering much depth — halls, auditoria, music rooms, large offices. It mounts direct or on battens with a concealed fixing, and it needs the same air gap behind it as any absorber: the cavity is part of the performance, not a fixing detail. The practical caution is dust. The finished panel does not shed, but cutting mineral wool on site does, so in an occupied building the cutting has to happen outside the room or behind a seal — that is the one real operational difference from a polyester panel. The other detail is the facing: an acoustically transparent facing lets the core work, while a sealed decorative veneer reflects sound and quietly cancels the absorption you paid for. If a veneer is wanted, confirm the facing before the order rather than after.
Send the room type, the target absorption and any fire class when you enquire, and tell us if the environment is humid so the facing and edges can be matched to it.
A high absorption figure in limited depth, with a class to meet
The room where the class and the figure are both written into the spec
Deep absorption on the walls with a fire requirement on top
Absorption spread across a big plate, where depth per panel matters

Yes. Send the product and the size you are specifying, and we will confirm the sample and the lead time for it.
Two reasons: it is non-combustible, and it absorbs more per unit of thickness. Where the specification names a fire class, or where the room needs a high absorption figure in a limited depth, mineral wool is the core that gets there.
The factory-finished panel does not, but cutting it on site does. If the work is in an occupied building, cut outside the room or seal the area — that is the practical difference from a PET panel.
The acoustically transparent facings are; a sealed decorative veneer is not, and a sealed face reduces absorption. If you are specifying a veneer, tell us and we will confirm the facing that keeps the performance.
Only with the right facing and edge detail. Standard mineral wool is not for a pool hall; tell us the environment before choosing the panel.
